Three Signs

God gave three SIGNS to Moses so that he might BELIEVE His word.  Remember that signs are for the Jew (John 2:18, I Corinthians 1:22).  These SIGNS are wonderful TYPES of spiritual truths for the saved TODAY!

Exodus 4:1-9

  1. Rod to serpent (v. 3, 4) – the CROSS – Jesus is the ROD (Isaiah 11:1) and became SIN (connected with the serpent) – see John 3:14
  2. Leprosy (v. 6, 7) – the CLEANSING – leprosy is a type of sin, because of SIN Jesus Christ died for us so that we could be CLEANSED (1 John 1:7, 9)
  3. Blood (v. 9) – the COST of redemption (Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:7) Water – the physical birth (John 3:5, 6) Blood – Christ’s blood shed for the spiritual birth (1 Peter 1:18-23)
