6. AN OPEN LETTER FOR TRUTH’S SAKE

” Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil… Isa.5:20

“Woe unto them…which justify the wicked for reward…” Isa.5:22,23

“Beloved,…it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” Jude 3

“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted… II Cor.11:4

“As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Gal.1:9

“And if by grace, than it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, than it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” Rom.11:6

“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” Rom.3:28

One understands when the unredeemed elevate other unredeemed people to salvation and heaven. To them, the only attribute of God that matters, and upon which He functions, is that of love. Therefore, He is too loving to for any of His creation to spend a Christ-less eternity in Hell. What is not understood however, and really baffling, is when professing redeemed people elevate the unredeemed to salvation and heaven.

The human creation of God must receive a spiritual new birth to become children of God. And God lays down the standard whereby any person can or will be redeemed. One must receive the Lord Jesus Christ alone to be justified before a Holy God. It is a faith transaction apart from any and all works. And apart from Repentance, one will never truly receive Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ did all the work: He lived a sinless life and went to the cross for nothing that He had done. Upon that cross He took upon Himself my entire sin debt that I owed, but could never pay, no matter how hard I might have tried. He paid the full penalty for my sin through His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection from the dead. If He had not raised from the dead, then God would not have been satisfied with the payment that Christ made. More would have been needed. Truth is, God was satisfied and sin can never again be paid for by any means.

Saying all that was necessary to say this. When there is a religion of any kind that maintains anything in addition to or subtraction from the finished work of Christ, we who are redeemed are not to brand that as even a form of Christianity, nor are we to send their leaders to salvation and heaven by our words. As a Bible believing child of God, I find it beyond outrage to hear that some evangelicals doing exactly what I have referred to. Let me be as blunt: If the people that I am about to mention are not traitors to the gospel, or the cause of and person of the Lord Jesus Christ, then their words certainly are, and every born again believer should be shocked into action by them.

Franklin Graham, interviewed by Katie Couric, on NBC television, after the death of the pope of the Roman Catholic Church, said that he and the pope “preach the same gospel.”

“We disagree on a lot of doctrinal issues and I guess those disagreements will always be there. At the same time we did agree on the fundamentals that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth to die for our sins and when He died on that cross and shed His blood He took the sins of the world with Him on the cross; and if we confess our sins and repent and by faith receive Christ into our hearts, God will forgive us and cleanse us. These are fundamentals of the faith we agreed on and support, and we appreciate this man and the stand he has taken…”

Billy Graham, Franklin’s father, told Larry King, on CNN television when asked if the pope was now with God, replied that he (Graham) did not know for certain about himself, but insisted that he was sure that the pope was with the Lord.

The President of the United States, George W. Bush, a professing believer, said essentially the same thing, that the pope was now home in heaven.

Jack Van Impe tossed his hat into the apostasy ring as well, coming out in favor of grace plus works as now a “Christian” doctrine able to save.

The roots of apostasy are very well established, very deep, and spreading all the time

I need go no further. The above verses speak for God and the means of salvation. False religion has never been on the side of justification by faith in Christ alone, nor have they proclaimed salvation by grace through faith…alone, and not of any type works. They have all added to or taken away from the gospel in some way or another. I feel that the Graham family should know better, and that they do. So therein is the puzzle: why elevate a faith plus works messenger and religion to salvation, and then heaven, when you know that the Bible teaches quite the opposite? Why mislead the brethren and the lost? And when did ‘common cause’ become a part of the gospel? And is it enough to save one’s soul? Emphatically, NO! The obstacles to salvation as presented and believed by Roman Catholicism and the pope, through the sacraments, make the Judaizer’s [faith plus works] in the apostle Paul’s day look like a Christian denomination. As one writer aptly stated, “I wonder if Paul, upon hearing of the death of the head of the Judaizer’s, would have appeared on JNN (Jerusalem News Network) to say what a great leader he was, and yes, we had our differences, but we held together [on the fundamentals].” You know the answer. Many evangelicals, because of their history of ignoring essential [i.e. fundamental] doctrine, do not.

If there are two ways of salvation and entrance into heaven, we all best throw our Bibles away, and all join together in one big, happy ecumenical organization, and await its leaders, the false prophet and the antichrist. If there is but one way of salvation, then it is time to wake up out of our lethargy, open our Bibles and study the Scriptures, and stand for the truths of the gospel that used to be important enough to die for. It is time to call good, good, and evil, evil. Straight across the board. And to examine our beliefs to see what gospel we are believing, to see whether we are in Christ by faith in Him alone, or in a religion by grace plus works. Why so important, preacher? One message saves, and one alone. All others, no matter how close, cannot save. Ever. You weigh it out as to what is more important.

Your eternal destiny hangs in the balance.
