Seven Miracles in the Gospel of John (Introduction)

John 20:30, 31

The gospel of John records SEVEN miracles of our Lord Jesus Christ.  As stated in the verses above, only these seven were recorded so that the reader of John’s gospel might BELIEVE:
(1) That Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God
(2) So that one might have eternal life (only through the Lord Jesus Christ)

Below are the seven miracles:

  1. Turning water into wine in Cana (John 2:1-11)
  2. Healing the nobleman’s son in Capernaum (John 4:46-54)
  3. Healing the impotent man at the Pool of Bethesda in Jerusalem (John 5:1-18)
  4. Feeding the 5,000 near the Sea of Galilee (John 6:5-14)
  5. Walking on the water of the Sea of Galilee (John 6:16-21)
  6. Healing a blind man in Jerusalem (John 9:1-7)
  7. Raising dead Lazarus in Bethany (John 11:1-45)

Interestingly enough, the Holy Spirit recorded SEVEN miracles.  The number SEVEN is consistently God’s number of COMPLETION in the Scriptures.
