A Pure Language
Following Noah’s family leaving the ark, the directive of God to multiply the population and spread throughout the earth was ignored by successive generations. All the people being in the same geographic area, it is not surprising that there was only one language spoken by the people. God, in judgment of this disobedience and the idolatry then in practice, moved His program along by confounding the language of the people so that they could not understand one another. This caused them to migrate and eventually arrive at the 6000 plus languages we have today. But, there is coming a day when all this will change. The minor prophet Zephaniah tells us about it. “Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.” Zephaniah 3:8-9
What might that pure language be?
